Teaching and Learning

Tayarisha seeks to contribute to creating public good by conducting academically rigorous, cutting-edge action research; providing world-class education; and contributing to the public debate on the challenges and opportunities presented by digitisation. As part of providing world-class education, Tayarisha works closely with its host, the Wits School of Governance, to provide cutting-edge programmes.

Tayarisha has adopted a research-informed teaching approach that ties the research undertaken by the Centre to inform all teaching programmes. This is to provide cutting-edge and policy-relevant programmes that remain focused on the current digital context of the African continent. Tayarisha offers a variety of short courses in conjunction with the Wits School of Governance’s Executive Education division and is currently developing a series of Massive Open Online Courses focused on recent research that is expected to launch in 2024.

Tayarisha is also in the process of developing University-certified Master’s programmes on Anticipatory and Digital Governance.
