Professor Miles Markus of the Wits Research Institute for Malaria has been awarded (2023) the Elsdon-Dew Medal of the Parasitological Society of Southern Africa (their highest honour).

The Parasitological Society of Southern Africa (PARSA) awards this prestigious medal on merit to contributions to parasitology in Africa.
