The?Quality and Academic Planning Office (QAPO)?plays a coordinating and supporting role in quality assurance?and is the custodian of quality assurance activities at Wits.
The Office works with a number of role players in the University on various aspects of academic planning and quality assurance activities, including but not limited to, liaising with external bodies such as the Department of Higher Education (DHET) and Training, the Council on Higher Education (CHE), and South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) in relation to registration and accreditation of new academic programmes and qualifications.
