Curriculum development

Curriculum is at the heart of the academic project. Wits academics keep abreast of new developments in their field and in teaching and learning to ensure that Wits offers world-class academic programmes.

Every new academic development, be it a course or a whole new programme, goes through a rigorous quality assurance process, overseen by the Quality and Academic Planning Office (QAPO). QAPO staff work with academics to ensure that their academic developments meet required quality standards.

The Centre for Learning and Teaching Development (CLTD) offers a number of professional development opportunities for academics to grow their knowledge of curriculum design and development.

A resource document, Guidelines for Curriculum Development at Wits, is available here

If you are interested in adapting your course to make it Writing Intensive, please see the Wits Writing Programme.
