Collaborations and Partnerships
The Hub has partnered with Liberty Group Ltd to cooperate strategically on Fintech-related projects, particularly the establishment of an Incubator Hub, located on the first floor of the Liberty Building in Braamfontein, where individuals can solve real-world problems with a focus on fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and the delivery of tangible commercial or societal benefits.
The Hub, in collaboration with the School of Economics and Finance, host a Professorial Chair Position in Financial Data Science, funded by the FirstRand Foundation, to pursue leading scholarship in Financial Data Science.
The Hub seeks to locate itself in the multi, inter and trans-disciplinary spaces as the most appropriate way of leveraging the knowledge, expertise and intellectual resources in various divisions, schools, centres, institutes, and faculties at the University.
To do so effectively and to add value to the work of these academic entities, The Hub will seek, where possible, appropriate, and workable, to engage in research collaborations, make joint appointments, co-teach courses, provide joint supervision, and share and exchange staff. In this way the Hub will add value to the University in general and to specific departments, disciplines, divisions, centres, and institutes as it becomes an integral part of an intellectual ecosystem that strengthens the University’s academic stature and standing.
