Automated Haematology

The unit forms part of a totally automated clinical pathology service, which serves the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) and surrounding clinics. Registrars have the opportunity of viewing Total Laboratory Automation (TLA) in action. The unit continues to serve as a national reference laboratory for both the private and public sectors. The laboratory provides a 24-hour service for the full blood count and differential counts.
