Bleeding Disorders Research Unit

Director: Professor Johnny Mahlangu

The unit receives referrals with unknown bleeding diatheses from Gauteng, Mpumalanga and North West provinces. Confirmed diagnoses include congenital haemophilia, von Willebrand¡¯s disease, acquired haemophilia, platelet disorders, amongst others. On-going research in the unit includes clinical trials, investigator-initiated collaborative research projects and postgraduate research.
