Oral Medicine and Periodontology

The department has three sub-disciplines whose activities encompass prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases/conditions of the supporting and surrounding tissue of the teeth or their substitutes; including implant site development, their placement as well as the maintenance of health and function of these structures and tissues.

The sub-discipline of Oral Medicine specifically deals with the diagnosis and management of the oro-facial conditions; mostly those affecting the oral mucosa; primarily through chemotherapeutic approach and minor surgical therapy, though not limited thereto.
