Researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras’ (IIT-M) collaborate with South African universities on the reuse of construction debris.
Yunus Ballim, emeritus professor from the school of civil and environmental engineering at Wits along with Mark Alexander from the UCT civil engineering department and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras’s civil engineering department have been working on projects that look at the potential of reusing construction debris in new buildings. This is a great example of the power of collaboration between institutions as well as a much needed area of research in the world today.
