Symposium in honour of Justice Edwin Cameron

- Lee-Anne Bruce

Join the Wits School of Law on 4 September 2019 for a symposium in honour of CALS alum Justice Edwin Cameron

On 4 September 2019, the Wits School of Law will be hosting a symposium in honour of Justice Edwin Cameron, celebrating his constitutional service with a day of critical legal dialogue. After 25 years as a judge, Justice Edwin Cameron is retiring from the constitutional court of South Africa. The Wits School of Law is marking the occasion with a symposium in his honour. As well as reflecting on Cameron’s legal impact, panels will interrogate LGBTQIA+ and AIDS activism, critical jurisprudence and transformation within public interest law.

Prof Tshepo Madlingozi and Palesa Madi from CALS will be participating in what looks to be an interesting discussion. Please join us from 10:00 in the Chalsty Centre. RSVP to Kelebogile.Tadi@wits.ac.za by 2 September.

The symposium will also be followed by an alumni cocktail function from 5:30 in the Rembrandt Gallery on West Campus hosted by Redi Tlhabi and Prof Wesahl Domingo.
