Wits Dean to spearhead 足球竞彩app排名 Affairs nationally as SAASSAP President

The Dean of 足球竞彩app排名 Affairs, Jerome September, has been elected President of the South African Association of Senior 足球竞彩app排名 Affairs Professionals.
The new leadership was announced at a special annual general meeting at the University of the Free State on 8 August 2025.
SAASSAP comprises of senior professionals who are at the heart of student development, and success in the South African higher education landscape. Operating at an executive level, they influence policy, mobilise stakeholders, and leverage resources, knowledge, and innovation for the benefit of students. They do this working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including students themselves.
September will work alongside Dr Irene Mohasoa (Walter Sisulu University), Dr Bernard Sebake (Central University of Technology), Mr Tulani Nkuntse (Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University), Dr Tebogo Ncokazi (University of Zululand), Prof. Percy Sepeng (University of KwaZulu-Natal), Ms Asanda Tele (University of Fort Hare) and Ms Nonkosi Tyolwana (Cape Peninsula University of Technology).
In his acceptance speech, September reflected on the association’s growth and paid tribute to the previous leadership for their resilience in laying a solid foundation upon which the new national executive committee can build on.
“This new chapter not only builds on those achievements but also responds to a changing and increasingly complex landscape for student affairs in South Africa – which we will collectively meet with courage and clarity. We will be defined by relevance, renewal, and impactfullness that reimagines the future of the higher education sector.”
He stressed that SAASSAP must go beyond being a professional body to become an influential voice in shaping student life, higher education policy, and institutional transformation.
Responding to urgent challenges
September highlighted the pressures confronting universities and students across South Africa, including rising student debt and funding challenges, food insecurity and accommodation issues, mental health challenges, and gender equality and career preparedness as key issues requiring concise responses from the Association, the sector and stakeholders.
“These are not abstract issues,” he said. “They affect the daily lives of our students and strike at the heart of what universities are meant to be. 足球竞彩app排名 affairs is not auxiliary — it is a critical partner in enabling student success, shaping a positive student experience, and driving transformation.”
