The Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of State Capture, Corruption and Fraud in the Public Sector including Organs of State, also known as the Zondo Commission and chaired by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, released 'Part 1 Vol. 1: South African Airways and its Associated Companies' of the Report on 4 January 2022.

Research by Professor Jonathan Klaaren from the Wits School of Law, together with researchers Ryan Brunette and Patronella Nqabais from the Public Affairs Research Institute (PARI), is referenced in the report in chapters on public procurement, and as part of a key policy recommendation - to incentivise whistleblowers in efforts to combat corruption in public procurement.
