The School of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering recognises prior learning in the engineering field. We also recognise individuals with extensive working experience in industry, and who want to pursue postgraduate studies with us.
For those who do not qualify for admission into the PGDip programme, but have a relevant NQF level 6 qualification and more than 5 years’ experience in a relevant industry, your application will be considered by the school’s postgraduate committee.
For those with a relevant qualification lower than NQF level 6 and more than 10 years’ experience in a relevant industry, you may be granted the option to complete 2 modules from the programme as short courses through Wits Enterprise (when available). Should you attain 60% or more in these modules, your application will be considered by the school’s postgraduate committee.
Contact the Postgraduate Officer for more information on this option.
