The Grounds and Turf unit is responsible for general maintenance and related services/functions concerning the University's open spaces and surrounding external infrastructure.
This unit oversees more than 541 000m² of gardens and open spaces, which include University buildings, 18 residences, and outlying University sites.
Additionally, it manages 560 000m² of sports facilities.
Currently, there are 10 boreholes in operation.
In 2023, the utilization of boreholes instead of municipal water resulted in a substantial estimated saving of R4 994 700.
