Tebogo Thothela
Tebogo Thothela currently serves as a Parliamentary Counsellor to the Gauteng Premier as well as Director Strategic support to the Director General of the Province.
He previously served in a similar role at the Gauteng Department of Health. He is no stranger to leadership even at Wits, having previously served on the University Council, Senate, Institutional Forum and SRC. He has also served in a number of Higher Educations structures including being the Deputy President of the SAUS, and various other Ministerial and Presidential committees on higher education.
Tebogo Thothela holds a BCom Law, LLB and LLM all from Wits University. He is currently reading towards his second masters, Master of Public Administration, at the University of Pretoria.
Other achievements
- Appointed by former President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Mr Jacob Zuma, to sit as part of a 13-member “Presidential task team on short-term student funding”,

- Speaker at the prestigious 2018 Oxford Africa Conference
- Mail and Guardian's Top 200 Young South Africans in 2019
