Fiona Kigen

Fiona is a seasoned marketer, currently holding the position of Vice President in the Absa Corporate and Investment Banking marketing team.

She has extensive experience in services marketing, with a career spanning 15 years across several countries in Africa. Fiona started her career at Barclays Bank Kenya (now Absa Bank Kenya) as a Marketing Executive and later grew into senior management roles. During her time with Absa, she has had the opportunity to lead the marketing teams in Tanzania, Kenya and Mozambique and has also worked in the Africa regional office.

Fiona is a proud and passionate alumna of Wits, having graduated with an MBA from Wits Business School in 2017. Currently she is pursuing a PhD in Marketing at the Wits School of Business Studies. As Wits is one of the world¡¯s top universities, Fiona believes that diverse voices from Africa such as hers in the Exco are critically important to ensure that the university is truly international. During her time at Exco, Fiona looks forward to helping shape the future of Wits, and in using her communications experience to ensure an engaged and participative alumni body.
