Using systems thinking, the ISL maps challenges, identifies leverage points, and designs impactful interventions that create long-term, systemic change. Projects are executed through flexible life-cycle models—ranging from traditional (Waterfall, V-Model) to adaptive (Spiral, Evolutionary, Incremental)—ensuring fit-for-purpose solutions.
The first Lab saw Telkom and the University of the Witwatersrand joining forces in March 2023 to establish the new Telkom Industry Solutions Lab. The commercial research and development (R&D) facility dedicated to accelerating synergistic collaboration between industry and academia.
Bringing together multi-disciplinary teams from Wits, the Telkom Group, and beyond, this collaborative effort will pave the way for state-of-the-art innovations in telecommunications and the development of transformative digital solutions for various industries.
