Senate

The Senate is the University’s highest academic authority, accountable to Council for regulating all Teaching, Learning, Research and related academic functions. It oversees curricula, examinations, and academic standards, and makes recommendations to Council on the establishment of faculties and other academic structures. Senate determines the conditions and recipients of scholarships and prizes, establishes committees and reports on its work to Council. It also has powers to regulate student registration and progression where academic performance is inadequate.
