Strategic Performance
Sustainable development at Wits involves viable performance that looks at the long-term interests of the University and its stakeholders. The objective is three-fold:
- economic and financial well-being of the institution;
- social well-being, including health and safety needs;
- and environmental well-being.
The monitoring of institutional performance with regard to the strategic imperatives of the University is an integral part of the implementation of the University's strategy. For instance, the commitment of Portfolio Executives to performance indicators and targets has enabled them to develop dashboards for various strategic priorities. Monitoring and evaluation draws on knowledge and tools that already exist in organisations. Monitoring involves stakeholders, communication and risk management, requiring planning, implementing data collection, analysis, disseminating results and reviewing and adjusting the monitoring system.
The University produces annual school and faculty profiles containing detailed analysis of faculty performance set against University targets in key areas of the University strategy.
Efficient services
One of the University’s goals is to ensure that administrative systems and processes are positioned to provide effective and efficient services to its stakeholders. One such mechanism is a service hotline whereby staff, students and the public at large access an electronic form to offer suggestions on service issues or lodge a compliment or complaint. This is managed by the Registrar’s Office and feedback is provided on a monthly basis to managers. 足球竞彩app排名s and visitors to campus can also give feedback via electronic devices located on the campus at various service departments such as the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, Fees Office and the 足球竞彩app排名 Enrolment Centre.
